ACTIVITY 3.
PROGRESSION TO IMPROVE THE SPIKE
Exercise 1: Wall Hitting
Instructions:
Stand a short distance away from a wall, facing it.
Hit the ball against the wall and approach to jump
as if you were going for a spike.
Repeat the exercise, adjusting the distance from
the wall to challenge yourself and work on
different angles.

Exercise 2: Target Practice


Instructions:
First, you have to set up a target (for example, a cone) on the court. Your teammate toss
the ball to you for the spike. Focus on hitting the ball to the cone with power and don´t
forget to do the proper jumps (three long jumps and one short, turning your body a bit)
Repeat the exercise, changing the distance and position of the cone.

Exercise 3: Game Simulation


Instructions:
You have to set up a small game with your
teammates. Try to add spikes into the game
whenever you receive a good set near the net.
Apply the techniques learned in the previous
exercises.
Repeat this exercise, playing more rounds to get
more opportunities to practice your spikes.
