Task: PERUVIAN LEGEND OF THE HUACACHINA
Huacachina means ‘woman who cries.

warrior, the bravest of all, married him.
After that he had to go to war to fight and in battle he

Then Huacca devastated, went crying to the place

Legend where she met her great love. There she cried don’t
stop for several days and with her tears she managed
to form a small lagoon.
One day a young warrior passed by and stood looking at Huacca. She scared she
threw herself into the lagoon. She remained there for hours until the warrior left.

Upon leaving, Huacca realized that she don’t longer had legs, she had become a
mermaid.
Since then, the inhabitants of Huacachina tell that each new moon, the princess comes
out of the water to cry for her beloved.
Finally, despite this legend held by the inhabitants of the area, the history of the
Huacachina Lagoon is a little longer. The story takes place during the first decades of
the 20th century, when its waters were believed to have healing properties.
Actually Huacachina known as the 'Oasis of America', here you will find a placid lake
surrounded by greenery, piers and a varied offer of hotels to stay to enjoy more than
one day in this wonderful refuge.
