Lemon Grass Procedure Old
Lemon Grass Procedure Old
In this study, the researchers chose to make an oil-scented lamp. By extracting the
lemongrass and oregano, which are good repellents against mosquitoes. They also use used
cooking oil for their oil-scented lamp rather than throwing it away and creating major casualties
in the environment. The researchers also chose a container that can hold 4 tablespoons (tbsp) of
salt and 9 tablespoons of the extract. The researchers prepared matchsticks and cotton for their
candle wick, they wrap the matchsticks with the cotton to absorb the oil. They also prepared a
clean white cloth to squeeze out the extracts of the lemongrass and oregano plants.
Procedures
The researchers gathered everything they needed. First, the researchers in this study
chopped the lemongrass and oregano plants, the researchers specified that the lemongrass and
oregano plants should measure up to 2 cups of measurement for each plant. Then, by adding 10
tablespoons of used oil, the researchers grind 2 cups of lemongrass and 2 cups of oregano plants
with 10 tablespoons of oil into the grinder. The researchers grind the ingredients into bits.
Afterward, the researchers heat up a pan on low fire at about 60 to 90°C (140 to 194 °F), then
cook the ground plants on the pan for at least 5 minutes until the leaves of the plants absorb the
oil. Then, the researchers cool off the leaves and prepared clean white clothes to squeeze out the
extracts of the plants, the researchers expected to get 9 tbsp of extract from the lemongrass and
oregano. Then, the researchers prepared a container that can hold 4 tbsp of salt, in this study
researchers used a glass container that can also hold 4 tbsp of salt. Then, the researchers made
their own candle wick for their oil lamp, they use matchsticks and cover it with cotton which is
just enough to absorb the oil from the lamp. Lastly, the researchers pour the cooled extracts of
the lemongrass and oregano plants into a container and light the candle wick of the lamp.
