In an area there is a very big and very lively event. Namely the Banyumas area
which is usually called the city of Satria. Banyumas is famous for its special food and an
area that is rich in tourism. Banyumas City has its 452nd birthday on 22 February 2023.
Banyumas birthday held many events after being off for a long time due to covid.
some of the events:
1. Heritage Carnival
2. Pilgrimage to the Tomb of the Former Banyumas Regent
3. Anniversary Ceremony at Purwokerto Square
4. Kentongan Contest
5. Anniversary Reception at the Lotus Tower.
 On February 24, 2023, the kentongan festival was held. Thousands of spectators
packed the kentongan route for approximately two kilometers, from Alun-Alun to Simpang
Srimaya, Purwokerto and in front of the stage of honor in front of Rita Super Mall. The
festival was opened by the Regent, namely Mr. Achmat Husain, "The purpose of the
Kentongan Festival is not only for the festival but for the promotion of tourism and public
entertainment which is very popular with the people of Banyumas," Mr. Regent.
The kentongan festival was attended by 31 participants. A total of 27 participants
represented all districts in Banyumas, while the other four exhibited. My friends and I took
the opportunity to see first hand how the excitement was that night.
From the kentongan group, many of them were creative, such as bringing lumping
horses, carrying large puppets, large puppets and making batik movements during kentongan
and many others. After the pre-participant performance finished at around 23.00, my friends
and I finally went home to rest and got ready to wait for the announcement of the winner. I
also heard opinions from the audience why I attended this festival "I am very enthusiastic
because there has been no big event for a long time and tonight was really lively" irma.
