For the game, you will need 1 die, copies of the game board and game board pieces to move
around the board.
1. In groups: Try to put the students in groups of odd numbers. They will be able to vote if
the answer given is correct or not. If there is one group that is even, then the person who
played can’t vote. If there is a disagreement, they can ask you for the answer.
(Or you could have the students write down their answers and at the end, you can tell them the
right answers and see what groups got all of them right.)
2. Two teams: You could divide the class into two teams. Have the students stand up in two
lines and have a desk at the end of each line facing away from each other. You stand in
the middle and see if the students answer correctly. You move the piece (or have them do
it) accordingly. The first team to FINISH wins. (And tape down the sheet to the desk.)
3. You could use a word bank with all of the answers on the board and they can try to find
the right answer to help them. This is a very short game, so it might not be needed. It’s up
to you. You could also give students a life line or three life lines depending on their level
of English. Allow each team to have life lines (two or more). If a student gets really
stuck, they can choose someone from their line to come help them answer the question.
They have 1 minute to choose a person and get an answer.
The reason I made the game short is so that you can use it if you have extra time at the end of a
lesson or as a warm up to review simple past. If you have any questions, contact me on
Facebook.
Answers are below and the student copy is the last page. Enjoy!
