Muhhammad Arif from 6-Ceria. Today, I would like to review a book entitled Water. This book is authored by Tania Lim and published by Penerbitan Afdal/Smart Science From Universe Science. The main characters are Arif and his mother. This book is suitable for those who are interested in science or just wanted to know more about water. It has some pictures in it which are colorful and quite beautiful. The best part is whenever there is a word that is green-colored, it's usually a word that some of us may not know. To check the meaning of these words, just look at the top of the page where the word was. Without further ado, let's start. It is a Sunday evening and Arif is tired after playing football with his friends. He drank a whole bottle of water and yet his still thirsty. So, he decided to go home and drink some more water. After reaching home, he requested his mother for a large glass of water. He then gulps the water rapidly and is satisfied. He then calls water a miracle liquid. He asked his mother to explain more about water. So, Arif's mother says that the earth is like an enormous water tank. The planet has more water cover than land cover. There are 17 facts about water, which is: Three-fourths of the earth's surface is water. The seas and oceans cover more than 71% of the earth. Any clean water is free from color, smell, turbidity (the quality of being cloudy, opaque, or thick with suspended matter), taste, and floats. Water is a basic need for survival. A person can live without food for a few weeks, meanwhile, without water, we can only survive for a few days. Our body needs a lot of water every day and without it, we can fall sick and dry. The body of a person is 78% full of water. This is called the fluid balance. We get food from grains that grow on farms. Farms are full of crops and crops need water to grow. Without water, we wouldn't have rice. Or anything that is based on grains. It's also for water parks which is where children love to be. Swimming and water polo are games played in the water. Water skating and surfing are the seafront water games for adults. Water is also used as a weapon. The police jet out water to disperse the unruly mob. Water is used to push off the people in a riot. Water guns don't cause any physical injury. Firefighters rush with huge tanks of water. They jet out water to put out the fire. In the olden times, people used water as fuel. They made steam engines for ships and trains. Electricity is also generated from water. This is called hydroelectricity. Water is also a cleaning agent. Water washes away germs and dirt. Any construction needs water to build on. They make cement mortar in a water base. New tires are dipped in water to retain their shape and to cool it down at the same time. A car comes to the road after spending 148,000 liters of water. Everybody needs water. A person uses water for four basic needs. They are drinking, sanitation, bathing, and cooking.
Here's a fun fact. We spend about 1.11
million liters of water and drink 74,00 liters of water. I hope that you'll like this book. That's all from me, thank you.
