CHAPTER FIVE

5.0 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

5.1 CONCLUSION

The student industrial work experience scheme (SIWES) programme has greatly

be of help to close the gap between practical and theoretical skills and the

experience in my course of study.

It is a good programme for all student in higher institution to gain more practical

experience beyond class room walls.

All of this valuable experience and knowledge that I have gained were not only

acquired through the direct involvement in task given but also through other aspect

of the training such as work observation, interaction with colleagues, superior, and

other people related to the field. From what I have undergone, I’m very sure that

the industrial training program has achieved its entire primary objectives. It’s also

the best way to prepare students to face the real working life. As a result of the

program now I am more confident to build my future career.

12
5.2 RECOMMENDATION

It is not ideal that some student find it difficult to get a place (I mean a place

related to their course of study i.e the field to do their SIWES that is why there

must be information technology) centre that are large enough to accommodate

student of every part in time that there will be congestion at a point done.

From the experience carried out during the industrial training period, I hereby

humbly make the recommendation to the Polytechnic and the Organization as well

as believing that when carefully followed, there will be a way forward, to a better

future.

The four month of SIWES should be strictly adhered because there is much to

learn.

 The government should make provision for enough facilities in order for SIWES
student to be able to put to practice what they are been taught in their various
attachment places.
 The supervisor from institution and ITF should visit the student at
appropriate time.
 ITF should pay student monthly allowance during training to alleviate the
problem of transportation.
