Homework
Homework this term will consist of revising sounds taught in class, learning common words, reading decodable
readers online and completing teen number booklets. You will be provided with your child’s registration information
to access DRA (Decodable Readers Australia) online when required. Homework must be returned each Friday to
your child’s teacher.

Fruit Break
Please remember that fruit break consists of fresh fruit or vegetables. Cut up fruit or vegetables, for example, carrot
or celery sticks are perfect. If you could have this in a separate container that would be wonderful.

Library
Library lessons will be on TUESDAY this term. Please ensure a library bag, clearly labelled with your child’s name,
is provided. Books can be borrowed for a week and returned each Tuesday.

Sport
Sport for Kindergarten will be on a THURSDAY this term. Students will be involved in a variety of games and
fitness activities. Please ensure students wear sports uniform and shoes on Thursdays.
Release from Face to Face (RFF)
All permanent and temporary full time teachers (in all public schools) are entitled to release from face-to-face
teaching each week. During this time, teachers will be involved in collaborative planning, lesson preparation,
classroom observations, assessment and/or communicating with parents/outside agencies/members of our school
community. Kindergarten’s RFF day is Thursday.

News
Students are encouraged to speak in front of the class during news time. The information for news was sent home
with homework information.

Assembly
All parents are welcome to attend our fortnightly assemblies.

Parent Helpers
If you are available to assist in the Kindergarten classrooms with Literacy or Numeracy from 9:00-10:40 could you
please contact the school via email stating what days you are available. You will then be provided with a Working
With Children Check Declaration for Child Related Workers that must be completed prior to volunteering in the
classroom. Mrs Karliotis will be in contact with you once this has been completed. Please remember that you may
not be assisting in your own child’s classroom; we would like to spread the support throughout Kindergarten.

Hats and Raincoats

Please ensure that your child has a school hat and a raincoat and they are brought to school each day. They
should also be clearly labelled with their full name and class, as should any other items of clothing and lunch
boxes.

Afternoon Dismissal
A reminder to please keep your child’s teacher updated with any changes to where your child will be dismissed in
the afternoon, including days they will be attending OOSH/after school care.

If you have any concerns please contact either your child’s teacher or Mrs Karliotis
