Youth: The Hope of our future

The civic welfare training system ensures that we became a better version of

ourselves as a part of the community and how we can contribute to it. It also provides

learning that is creative, engaging, and motivating. As we share our own experiences in

being part of the community, it creates us, students, to be more open-minded and aware

of the issues that we are currently facing, things that we need to do, and reflect on our

actions as Filipino citizens.

In the whole semester, I was able to learn about the chapters in claned that a

member of the community should know. One of them is environmental awareness and

protection which is timely and relevant. The environment is close to my heart since I love

nature and animals, the module that was provided helps me to realize and reflect on the

effects of human activities because this also results in the disaster in which we are

affected. Similar to the current situation of those that are a victim of typhoon Odette and

it shows how important it is to know the disaster management is because there are certain

things in a natural disaster that we can control and prevent. Then, I also was able to gain

more knowledge about good governance since the upcoming election is close and the

webinar that was conducted helped me to choose the right leader for our country. It’s

been years and decades but our country is still facing poverty and corruption which serves

as an obstacle for us to grow and it is the time to choose wisely for our future leaders. We

should research and determine who is the leader that possesses the behavior, traits, and

characteristics of a good leader. The determining of a good leader became convenient

because through the modules, I was able to gain knowledge about good leadership. I also

appreciate how I was able to interact with other students in other courses and other parts

of the country or even the world which helps me to better understand the situation and

experience of different people as we share each other stories. Also, the story that was

shared made me realize that there are still a lot of people who care for our environment

and our country. Also, the creative ideas that we have made and shared such as the

recycled products which promote how we can efficiently use those recycled materials and

we can even use them in business.

As I’ve mentioned, there are a lot of things that I’ve learned in this program and it is

the reason why I value this subject. The things that I’ve learned were not just a concept

but it includes also its application of it. This learning does not allow itself to be constrained

inside a class or any form of educational material. Learning resides in different things and

forms. As a human who is social creatures, we spend our lives interacting with people

around us and we learn from them. It creates students to be a role models for the

betterment of its society which shows the patriotism and nationalism of the youth. This is

just the beginning of our contribution to the society and as what we learned in the program

that we should continue to serve even may it be little or big.
