MATERIALS
 DK yarn: 100g orange, 50g light-
yellow, blue, small amount of dark-
blue, white and black;
 Crochet hooks 3mm and 3.5mm;
 Triangle toy safety nose, pink;
 Toy staffing.

ch – chain;
st(s) – stitch(es);
sl st – slip stitch (insert hook in next stitch,
yarn over and draw through the stitch and
loop on hook to complete the stitch);
sc – single crochet (insert hook in next
stitch draw up a loop, yarn over, draw
through both loops on hook to complete
stitch);
hdc – half double crochet (yarn over,
insert hook in next stitch, draw up a loop,
(3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw
through all 3 loops on hook to complete

NOTES
Work with 2 threads of yarn together and
3.5mm crochet hook. Work with 1 thread
of yarn and 3mm crochet hook.
 ch1 at beginning of row/rnd doesn’t
count as a sc.
 ch2 at beginning of row/rnd counts as
first hdc.
 ch3 at beginning of the row/rnd counts
as first dc.
 Do not join rounds (unless it sayes in
instrucpion), mark first st of rounds.

HEAD
With 2 threads of orange yarn in and
3.5mm crochet hook, ch2.
Rnd 1: 6scs into 2nd ch (6)
Rnd 2: inc x6 times (12)
Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x6 times (18)
Rnd 4: (2scs, inc) x6 times (24)
Rnd 5: (3scs, inc) x6 times (30)

SOLE (make 2)
With 2 threads of dark blue yarn and
3.5mm crochet hook, ch4.
Rnd 1: 2scs into 2nd ch, inc, 4scs into last
ch, work on other side of chain, inc, 2scs
in first ch don’t join round (12)
Rnd 2: 3incs, sc, 5incs, sc, 2incs (22)
Sl st in next st. Break the yarn leave a long
tail. Staff leg firmly and sew the sole to the
leg opening.
HANDS (make 2)
Start with 2 threads of orange yarn and
3.5m crochet hook, ch2.
Rnd 1: 5scs into 2nd ch (5)
Rnd 2: 5incs (10)
Rnd 3: scs around (10)
Rnd 4: 2scs, 5dcs worked together in next
st, 7scs (10)
Rnds 5-7: scs around (10)

Make 2scs for left (none for right hand).
Staff the hand. Fold the opening in half
and work through both layers, clos an
opening – 3scs.
Break the yarn, leave long tail for sewing
hand to the body.
EARS
Inner part (make 2 details).
With 2 threads of light-yellow yarn and
3.5mmm crochet hook, ch2.
Rnd 1: 6scs into 2nd ch, sl st in first sc (6)
Rnd 2: *(2scs, ch1, 2scs) in next st, sc,
repeat from * 3 times, sl st in first sc.
Break the yarn. Fasten off.
Back part of ear (make 2 details).
With 2 threads of orange yarn and
3.5mmm crochet hook, ch2.
Rnd 1: 6scs into 2nd ch, sl st in first sc (6)
Rnd 2: *(2scs, ch1, 2scs) in next st, sc,
repeat from * 3 times, sl st in next 3 sts.
Don’t break the yarn.
Join yellow and orange parts together, with
2 threads of orange yarn work through
both layers:
Left ear: 2scs into first corner, 5hdcs,
3hdcs in top corner, 5hdcs, 2scs in last
corner.
Break the yarn, leave long tail for sewing
it to the head.
Right ear: 2scs into first corner, 5hdcs,
3hdcs in top corner, 2hdcs, ch1, sl st in
next 2 sts, ch1, hdc in next st, 2scs in
corner.
Break the yarn, leave long tail for sewing
it to the head.
MUZZLE
With 1 thread of yellow yarn and 3mm
crochet hook , ch2.

Break the yarn leave long tail. Staff
lightly. Draw yarn through all sts and pull
tightly. Place safety nose (or nose-button)
in the middle and wrap the yarn couple of
times in the middle of muzzle to divide it
in two cheeks. Make muzzle flat and sew
on face.
MOUTH
With 2 threads of orange yarn and 3.5mm
crochet hook ch4.
Row 1: sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc, sl st
in last ch.
Sew the mouth under the muzzle.
TAIL
With 2 threads of orange yarn and 3.5mm
crochet hook, ch2.
Rnd 1: 6scs into 2nd ch (6)
Rnds 2-any length: scs around (6)
Don’t staff, sew it to the back.
TUMMY
With 2 threads of light-yellow yarn and
3.5mm crochet hook, ch5.
Row 1: sc into 2nd ch, 2scs, 3scs in last ch,
work on other side of chain, 3scs, ch1, turn

Row 2: 3scs, 3incs, 3scs, ch1, turn (12)
Row 3: 2 sc, 8incs, sc, 3scs in last st, don’t
turn, work on top side, 3scs, 2scs in last st.
Fasten off. Leave the long thread for
sewing tummy to body.
HAT
With 2 threads of blue yarn and 3.5mm
crochet hook, ch2.
Rnd 1: 6scs into 2nd st (6)
Rnd 2: 6incs (12)

Rnd 8: work only back loop, scs around,

Break the yarn, fasten off. Sew the hat to
head, staff it firmly.
HAT’S ORNAMENT
With 1 thread of dark-blue yarn and 3mm
crochet hook, ch2.
Rnd 1: 6scs into 2nd ch (6)
Rnd 2: inc x6 times (12)
Break the yarn and join white yarn.
Rnd 3: sl st around.
Fasten off. Sew it to hat.
COLLAR
With 1 thread of blue yarn and 3mm
crochet hook, ch36.
Row 1: dc into 5th ch from hook, dc, 3hdc,
21scs, 3hdc, 3dc.
EYE PATCH
With 1 thread of black yarn and 3mm
crochet hook, ch2.
Rnd 1: 3scs into 2nd ch, ch1, turn (3)
Rnd 2: inc x3 times, ch1, turn (6)
Rnd 3: (inc, sc) x3 times, ch1, turn (9)
Rnd 4: (inc, 2scs) x3 times (12)
Don’t break the yarn. Ch55, sl st into 2nd
ch, sl st across all chain and scs across top
of eye patch.
Sew it around the head.
EYE
With 1 thread of black yarn and 3mm
crochet hook, ch6.
Rnd 1: sl st into 2nd ch, sc, 2hdcs in next
ch, sc, sl st in last ch.

Sew it to head.

FINISHING
Sew all parts on their paces. With acrylic
fabric paint draw small details like octopus
on the hat’s ornament, whiskers-dots, line
on the hat, ornaments on the collar and
others. Or you can embroider all this
details.
