An Overview
National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Society) was
set up in the year 1982 by Govt. of India as an autonomous body for coordinated
growth and development of hospitality management education in the country.
Initially, the Council was set up in the name of the National Board of Studies in Food
Management, Catering & Nutrition under the administrative control of the Ministry
of Agriculture (Dept. Of Food) and subsequently it was transferred to the Ministry of
Tourism, Govt. of India in the year 1984 with renaming it as National Council for
Hotel Management & Catering Technology. The ofce of the Council is situated at
A-34, Sector-62, Noida (U.P.) in its own campus whereas its registered ofce is at
Pusa, New Delhi.

UG PROGRAM
The B.Sc. program equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to
efciently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the hospitality sector. The program
involves operational areas of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Ofce
Operation and House Keeping. It also provides managerial inputs in Hotel
Accountancy Food Safety & Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning,
Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Management,
Strategic program (Generic & Vegetarian) is available along with the Vegetarian
candidates in all the afliated Institute of Hotel Management but only vegetarian
practical option is available for vegetarian candidates. However, other theory classes
will be at par with the other students.

Age Limit: No Age Bar APPLY
Minimum Eligibility: Pass in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Examination or its
equivalent from a recognized Board/ Institution with English as one of the subjects.
Those appearing in the qualifying exam can also apply on a provisional basis.
Provisional admission will stand cancelled if proof of having passed the qualifying
examination is not submitted at the time of admission or latest by 30th September of
admission year.
NCHM JEE
The NCHM JEE is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), under the Ministry
of Education, Govt of India which is conducting major all India Examination through
Computer Based Test(CBT).
Tentative Date of NCHM JEE 2023 will be 14th May 2023 (Sunday).

India is estimated to contribute 250 Bn USD GDP from Tourism, 137 mn jobs in the
Tourism sector, 56 bn USD in Foreign Exchange Earnings and 25 mn foreign arrivals are expected
to be achieved by 2030.
By 2028, Indian tourism and hospitality is expected to earn $ 50.9 bn as visitor exports compared
with $ 28.9 bn in 2018. International tourist arrivals are expected to reach 30.5 mn by 2028.
