DUTIES OF CENTRAL LEVEL OBSERVER (CLO) / NCHMCT OBSERVER

1. The CLO shall arrange for his / her travel in such a way that he / she can be present at the
examination center one hour prior to the commencement of the examination.

2. CLO shall contact the Center Superintendent and inspect the center and make sure that the
seating arrangements are made satisfactorily. If not, request the Center Superintendent to make
proper arrangement.

3. When the examination is in progress, he/she shall be moving in the examination halls to ensure
that all the invigilators are discharging their duties properly and that there is no scope for malpractice.
In the event of the detection of cases of malpractice, he/she shall sign malpractice documents, along
with the Center Superintendent.

4. The CLO shall be present in the center throughout the examination. Under any circumstances he
/ she shall not leave the premises of the center where examination is in progress.

5. While collecting the answer sheets, all the entries on the front page such as the enrollment
number in digits and words, course, course code, subject and subject code, date of the examination
are to be checked along with the Center Superintendent. If any of them is wrongly entered or
missing, the paper will not be evaluated.

6. At the end of the examination, the CLO shall be present at the time of packing and sealing of
answer sheets by the Center Superintendent.

7. CLO shall not accept the assignment, if his / her relatives are / are the candidates appearing for
that examination.

8. Candidates writing the examination assisted by the scribes are permitted extra 25% of the total
examination time as compensatory time.
