16th INTRA MOCK TRIAL COMPETITION 2023

The Advocate's Legion, the Moot Court Committee of Vivekananda School of Law and
Legal Studies (VSLLS) of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies organized the 16 th
Intra College Mock Trial for the students pursuing Law on 16 th May 2023 at 3:00 pm in room
no.-706. The event was organized under the guidance of the respected faculty member Mrs.
Gunjan with the organizing committee comprising Manya, Arushi, Vedika and Lakshya
supervising the entire event for the preliminary round. The number of volunteers present in
the room from the report committee was nine and from Courtroom Committee was twenty-
two. The presiding judge for the day was Miss Lakshya with the student member Miss Srijaa.
The court master for the mock trial session was Mr. Raghav Singhal while the Court Marshal
for the mock trial session was Miss Vanshika Sharma.

The session started with Mrs. Gunjan addressing all the committee members about the
instructions that need to be followed while the proceedings are going on, she further asked to
maintain the uniform code and discipline throughout the sessions. Miss Laqshya addressed
the various committees and did a wholesome job of giving instructions to the respective
Court Marshal and the Court Master Committee with respect to their functions. She gave a
brief summary to the respective committee members about how to proceed with their
functions when the court proceedings are done on the online platform. She instructed that
members should enter the meeting with their cameras on after renaming themselves properly,
and also maintain the decorum of the meeting, by not unmuting only when required.

After that, TC01speaker was called out and asked about the time he would wish to take in
order to make his arguments which he stated for 7 minutes the same time was taken by the
TC02 speaker as well and 1 minute for rebuttal was taken by TC01speaker. Further, Miss
Laqshya instructed the committee members to greet the Judges first if they enter the meeting
before the participants and then the court matters should follow their instructions. She further
stated that if the judges communicate in Hindi medium then the members should not respond
as the competition should be strictly in the English mode and if the judges asked about when
to mark the participants then in response the master committee member should respond that it
is upon his/her discretion of whether to mark the participant simultaneously when they are
arguing or after they have finished with their arguments. Then the next participants Miss
Manya Modi (Court Master) and Miss Shrinji Raha (Court Marshal), were further instructed
by Miss Laqshya that the participants are required to login the meeting with two devices and
if they don’t have an alternate laptop they can log in through their mobile phones placed in a
landscape orientation and strictly asked all the members to maintain the decorum and to use
English language mode only.

She further stated that at the end of the meeting, the court marshal and master member should
request the judges to switch on their cameras in order to take a group photo. The session got
concluded with the members of the report committee dispersing at the request made by
organizing committee members at 3:45 pm.
