1. As a student, what can you contribute to conserve and protect our environment?
As a student, there are several ways to contribute to conserving and protecting the
environment. These include raising awareness, reducing, reuse, and recycling, conserving energy,
saving water, and practicing sustainable transportation. Raise awareness by sharing information
through presentations, discussions, social media, or even organizing awareness campaigns or
events. Reduce consumption by avoiding single-use items, reusing items as much as possible,
and recycling materials such as paper, plastic, and glass. Conserve energy by turning off lights,
appliances, and electronics when not in use.

Save water by turning off the tap while brushing your teeth, taking shorter showers, and
fixing any leaks in faucets or pipes. Practice sustainable transportation by walking, biking, or
using public transportation. Carpool with friends or classmates for longer journeys, join or start
environmental clubs or organizations in your school or community, participate in local clean-up
drives, tree planting activities, or conservation projects, and collaborate with others to make a
positive impact. Support sustainable practices in your daily life, stay informed about current
environmental issues and solutions, advocate for change, and inspire others to adopt
environmentally friendly habits. Every small action counts, and by actively contributing to
environmental conservation, you can help create a more sustainable future for generations to
come.

Are you in favor in Genetically Modified Organisms? Why or why not?

Yes, because Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) offer several potential benefits in various
fields, such as increased crop yield, enhanced nutritional value, pest and disease resistance,
improved crop quality, environmental sustainability, medical and pharmaceutical applications,
agricultural efficiency and resource conservation, and agricultural efficiency and resource
conservation. These benefits depend on proper scientific assessment, responsible regulatory
frameworks, and careful deployment to ensure safety and minimize potential risks to human
health, the environment, and biodiversity. GMOs can be engineered to have traits that enhance
crop productivity, such as resistance to pests, diseases, or environmental stresses, which can
help meet the growing demand for food worldwide and improve food security. Additionally,
GMOs can be designed to have desirable traits related to taste, texture, appearance, and shelf
life, which can result in improved food quality, reduced post-harvest losses, and increased
consumer acceptance.
