I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:
a. Illustrates situations that involve direct variation;
b. Identify the equation that expresses a direct variation;
c. Solve problems involving direct variation;
d. Appreciate the concept of direct variation in real-life situations.
III. Procedures:

Learners will recall the meaning of ratio and proportion from the previous discussion
and answer EXERCISE #1.
EXERCISE #1
Simplify the following ratio.
1. 21 : 15
2. 3 days : 3 weeks
3. 4 minutes : 1 hour
Complete each proportion by finding the value of x.
1. 3 : 5 = 15 : x
2. 4 : 3 = x : 9

ACTIVITY 1: RELATED or NOT?
Direction: Learners will be divided into five (5) groups and each group will receive
pictures. They will study the features of each picture and identify their relationship.
