TikTok is an application that is very popular among teenagers today. I like the TikTok app
because it is very entertaining for me. By just looking at your cellphone, you don't need to go to exciting
and interesting places, looking for entertainment, there's even an online shopping feature, just by
opening the TikTok application. But besides that, TikTok has a negative impact on young people,
teenagers and students, for example, content that is too vulgar.
Most teenagers are now so engrossed in using the TikTok application that they forget the time,
which can lead to addiction and cause emotional mental disorders. Not only that, TikTok can be a place
for cyberbullying where users can post negative comments or spread emotionally harmful content to
others. TikTok also has many viral trends and challenges that can often encourage risky or unhealthy
behavior. Use of drugs, violence or other harmful behavior may be promoted through inappropriate
videos or messages. It is important for youth to have a strong understanding of good values and positive
behavior and awareness of the social and psychological impact of their actions.
In my opinion, there may be several solutions to overcome or at least minimize the dangers of
TikTok for teenagers. The best solution to reduce the negative impact of TikTok on teenagers is an
approach to understanding the thoughts and behavior of these children. Parents and supervisors should
be actively involved in monitoring youth's online activity and provide an understanding of responsible
use. Teenagers also need to be engaged in open conversations and given a clear understanding of the
potential harms and consequences of inappropriate behavior on social media. In addition, if you
experience cyberbullying, the appropriate action is to report and block users who are harassing. It is
also important for parents and supervisors to monitor the activities of teenagers on TikTok and provide
support to them if they are victimized.
