Hello Corey, excellent job on your reply to the discussion for this week.

Your post was brief

and clear to understand. Just to add to your summary, management Information Systems
are used at the tactical level to make short-term choices. The MIS gets its data from the
Transaction Processing System directly. This information is then consolidated and displayed
in the form of summaries and totals on reports that are generated on a regular basis (daily,
weekly, monthly, or annual). I would also like to add to what an ERP is. It is a business
process management tool that uses a system of interconnected applications to help a
corporation manage business processes and automate a variety of back-office functions tied
to technology, services, and human resources.

Have you ever encountered a situation in which you used any of the types of information
system? For me, working in a financial institution, I use the Transaction Processing System
every day by completing various transactions for customers such as deposits, withdrawals
and wire transfers and completing transactions on behalf of the institution that I work for.

For me, my personal dashboard would include tasks to be completed (Daily and weekly):
school-related and work-related tasks, leisure tasks: watching a tv show, using social media,
going for a walk, personal goals and my academic progress (Courses already completed,
courses in progress of being completed and outstanding courses to be taken).

To answer your question, Jamaica’s overall enrollment for both semesters was 41 students. I
agree with the members of staff you provided for the hotel, hardware store and the
university and the different business processes they would perform to the types of
information system that would support those business processes.

Overall, great job!

To elaborate more on the strategic level and their use of information systems. The IS are
designed to address unstructured decision making. This helps the business categorize, store,
process and transfer the information. It also helps senior management tackle and address
strategic issues and long-term trends, both in the firm and in the external environment.
