Instruction: Describe and briefly explain the functions of the following
terminologies. (2pts each)
1. Half-wave Rectifier – is a type of rectifier which has alternating half-cycles
only of the input. This implies that the sinusoidal waves were not fully rectified. 2. Full-wave Rectifier – from the name itself, it is a rectifier which fully utilizes the waves or both halves of AC waves are being rectified. 3. Forward Bias Diode – is a diode where the voltage is going or delivered through the PN junction diode. The current flows in only one direction. 4. Reverse Bias Diode – is a diode where in the voltage is delivered in a reverse direction. 5. Electronic System – is the process as well as the arrangement of electronic components to be able to come up with an electronic device. Part II. Instruction: Box your final answer only. Round-off your final answer in 2 or 3 decimal places. (5pts each)
1. A DC Voltage 20V is connected in series with a silicon diode and load
resistance of 500Ω. Find the value of the current. 2. Determine the current I in the circuit below. Assume that the diode is a silicon diode.
3. Find the voltage VA in the circuit shown below.
4. Identify the state of the Germanium diode whether it is ON or OFF STATE.
5. Identify the state of the Silicon diode whether it is ON or OFF STATE.
Part III. Instruction: Analyze each problem and circuit diagram. Box your final answer only. Round-off your final answer in 2 or 3 decimal places if applicable. (10pts each) 1. Find the value of Vo and I(current) of the circuit below. 2. Find the missing value in the circuit diagram below. Assume that D = Germanium Diode.
3. Find the value of Vo if the Diode is Silicon diode and the Vi = 20V.
