The demand trend is based on when a product will be popular among people. Within the Philippines,
the changing climate greatly affects people such as summer or rainy season, the months with hot and
rainy climate will be shown below

This graph shows that the uptrend is more than the downtrend, so it is possible that the result of the
product to the public will be growing.Based on my research, the Philippines has two seasons (1) the
rainy season, from June to November; and (2) the dry season, from December to May. The dry season
may be subdivided further into (a) the cool dry season, from December to February; and (b) the hot dry
season, from March to May. So Filipinos now carry an umbrella in their daily life to protect themselves
from the heat or rain experienced in the Philippines.

The decision makers in buying this product are parents or teenagers because they have enough
knowledge or ability to buy this product. It is possible to become purchase agents are parents or
children, using social media it will make it easier to market the product because the Philippines is one of
the highest users of social media “82.4% of the total population of the Philippines has a social media
account. That means there are 92.05 million social media users spread throughout the country.” So the
ones who can influence the decision maker are the people who are often on social media, they may be
curious or enticed by the product they see online

The umbrella is really included in the daily going out of the home; it is used by almost people, to protect
themselves from the heat of the sun or sometimes from the rain. Because they use an umbrella every
day, they will not be surprised if they see the umbrella because they know that it is only used when it is
hot or rainy.

That’s why we became innovative so that simple umbrellas could be given life or become different from
other umbrellas. With the help of this change, the consumer can enjoy using the umbrella every day
when they go outside.

The “DIGITALUM” idea, where consumers can use it not only to protect them from heat or rain but also
to enjoy carrying it. In the innovation, we put technology inside the handle, and with that technology
they can play music, check the time, or use it to answer calls from their cell phone because this product
can connect through Bluetooth, so what is notified on their cell phone will also appear on the umbrella
handle technology.

It is convenient for people who use it because they don’t need to hold their cellphone to check
notifications or play music. With the help of “DIGITALUM,” you can check and play music while not
holding your cellphone. So the consumers who use it can avoid various accidents that can happen, such
as people wanting to steal your cellphone. Etc. So the word “umbrella” will be better for most people
when they hear the word “DIGITALUM”

marketing DIGITALUM or “digital umbrella” to existing umbrella manufacturer companies will not affect
any policy in the Philippines. Because selling an idea is just an innovation in the existing umbrella that
we see in the market.
