Gloria Steinem
(1934. - present)

 full name: Gloria Marie Steinem


 an American journalist, social-political activist, and a feminist leader
 emerged as a nationally recognized leader of second-wave feminism in the United
States (late 1960s and early 1970s)
 co-created Ms. Magazine - a platform for women’s voices to be heard and for discussion
about a woman’s place in the society
 co-founded several women’s groups that changed the looks of the feminist movement:
the National Organization for Women, Women’s Media Center, Women’s Action
Alliance, Women’s Political Caucus and more
 the efforts of the US women’s liberation movement contributed to the First National
Women’s Liberation conference in the UK in 1970
 in the conference they produced four key demands: equal pay, equal education and job
opportunities, free contraception and abortion on demand, and 24-hour nurseries
 today she is 88 years old
