Narrative Report on Curriculum Contextualization

On September 2-7, 2020, the teachers of Silangan Elementary School conducted a virtual
meeting on Curriculum Contextualization on different subjects such as Filipino, Mathematics,
MTB, Science and English.

On the second day of the online training, Ms. Ma. Antonette Pancho showed an example of
contextualization in Mother Tongue.

She discussed different topics from Mother Tongue subject and showed how contextualization
may apply on each topic.

She also mentioned that contextualization may be easy to apply on subject such as Mother
tongue since it uses local language and concepts. She also reminded that on contextualizing
activities, we should keep in mind the level of familiarity of the group of learners in order to
achieve maximum understanding of the lessons being discussed.

The session ended with Ms. Pancho answering questions and queries with regards to the
contextualization of the subject assigned to her.
