Priestley Pride- Priestley Pride is a student-led society for LGBTQIA+ students

and allies. It is a safe space for LGBTQIA+ students to meet like-minded people that
aims to spread awareness of LGBTQIA+ issues within Priestley College. We welcome
all students, but particularly those who identify as LGBTQIA+. Priestley Pride operates a
strict Zero Tolerance Policy to ensure our meetings and events are as inclusive and safe
as possible. Our policy extends to but is not limited to: homophobia, racism, transphobia,
queerphobia, biphobia, misogyny, harassment, xenophobia, classism, antisemitism,
islamophobia and ableism. We reserve the right to ask any individual to leave an event.

Priestley Pride is centred in the room A2.30 which is in the centre of the art block
building. Connie Bostock runs this enrichment for children who could be struggling
coming to terms with themselves, also to make themselves feel valid for who they are
and allow themselves to feel free and happy in a welcomed space where their feelings
and voices can be heard by others who could potentially feel the same way they do.

Priestley Pride enrichment is run on a Wednesday lunch at 12:05 pm till 12:55 pm. In
this time frame this allows students to go and enter this enrichment and allow them to
feel welcomed into the possibility of allowing themselves to feel happy with the decision
they have made for themselves and to let the students feel happy in their own skin and
their sexuality. In this enrichment it allows the students to express their voices in what
they feel or any concerns they have with themselves. This becomes a community for
students to feel safe in as many others may share the same thoughts and feelings about
the topic.

College Radio- College radio is a group of students that learn how radio and
sound works. College radio is a space where students learn new software and how it
works in order to create your own radio broadcast. Once the students understand the
radio station and how you can run and control it you have the power to broadcast a radio
station that runs throughout Viola Beach Cafe and Crescent Cafe in Priestley College.
College radio is an enrichment where it allows you to interact with new people you don't
know or don't necessarily always talk to, therefore is a space where you can create new
friends. Whilst working in the College radio enrichment, once you have the general skills
and understanding on how to run the radio station independently or in a group, you can
work with Radio Lymm on a voluntary basis giving you more experience and knowledge.

College radio is centred in the room, PA.21 which is in the Priestley building in the media
and performing arts block. Lindsey Bullen runs this enrichment for students who are
intrigued in learning how the radio station works and Lindsey also gives them the
opportunity to be independent of themselves and to trust themselves and others whilst
working with radio equipment. This allows students to feel they have some type of power
and understanding of themselves as students are trusted with the radio station which
can broadcast appropriate topics for others to listen to. This enrichment is based on
Thursday morning at 9am till 10am.
