BAR OPERATIONS 2022

RUNNERS’ QUICK SUMMARY AND GUIDELINES

_____________________________________________________________________________________
Greetings, runners! I prepared this writing, especially for the first-time Bar Ops runners to briefly
discuss the conduct of the operations and for better guidance. As each should know, the Bar Operations is
an annual culminating activity to which every law student takes part to extend their extra-support to their
seniors who will take the bar examinations. Your active participation in this event will be very much
appreciated for the glory of the law school and the success of the examinees. Do think that years later, it
will be our turn to take the exams, and hope to reap also the benefits of the “Lipasallian” Bar Ops
Treatment. I hope this tradition, which has become mandatory in nature, to extend support voluntarily
carries on. Let’s help hand-in-hand for each other’s success in the goal to pass the Bar Examinations. May
God Bless us all.
See you all. Thank You very much.
NN. Macasaet

I. EXAMINATION DAYS and DUTY DAYS

a. Duty shall mean ON-SITE DUTY (requiring your Physical Presence in the Bar Site in Lipa) and OFF-
SITE DUTY (not required to be physically present, but required to be awake on the duty time to
communicate information from any examinee with the officers in the site).
b. Kinds of Duty. You have 5 main concerns in you duty:
(1) Food. Distribute and facilitate claiming of Examinees’ Food in the early morning of the exam day;
(2) Stand-by on your communications device for possible requests from any examinees;
(3) Print or Send LAST MINUTE TIPS (LMT) via email or in hard copy to those persons near the site;
(4) Rider- Deliver anything in-person (e.g. EXAM PASS if the examinee forgets to bring it/food/LMTs)
(5) Inform officers should there be necessity of providing an “Emergency Service to Transport
Examinees” from their home to the bar site.
c. The 2022 Bar Examinations will be conducted in Four Different Days in two weeks of November.
Since you are a runner, your special attention shall be on (1) The evening before the Exam Day and (2)
The Early morning until around morning of the exam day. You will be required to be Physically Present
at the Bar Operations Site.

II. RULES TO REMEMBER IN CONDUCT OF OPERATIONS
On the Day of the Bar Operations:
1) DO NOT LOITER AROUND DLSL PREMISES. Bar Bulletin No. 8, series 2022 prohibits loitering
around the vicinity of the campus during the Bar Exam Day itself. This is the only aspect of the Bar
Operations that is prohibited. Gathering and forming a huge crowd might compromise DLSL CoL.
2) STAY AT / NEAR THE DESIGNATED BAR SITE. Our DLSL’s Bar site is located Behind the
Narkabowl Bldg. along the J.P. Laurel National Highway. If it is not possible for everyone to be actually
inside the Bar Site, staying at another place near the Bar Site would suffice, as long as you can be called
to report at the Bar Site whenever necessary. Remember also to observe health protocols.
3) KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE EXAMINEE YOU ARE DESIGNATED TO. As Runner, your
primary concern is to ensure you keep in touch in terms of communications with the examinee to whom
you are designated. This means that you should exert effort to get both their messenger account and
cellphone number. You should always bring your communications device and make sure to have
INTERNET DATA and MOBILE LOAD for communication. Once an examinee texts or chats any
concern or request, the runner shall automatically send the same to the officer present in the Bar Site.
4) REMEMBER THAT EXAMINEES CANNOT EXIT ONCE THEY ENTER. Any things ought to
be given to the examinee such as food or other materials shall be so given before 7am, that time before
they enter the exam premises. This is because they cannot anymore exit once they enter. This is also why
they’re packed food is a breakfast and lunch combo and why they have their bar kits.

III. DUTY STANDARD DESIGN

(Final instructions and tasks during duty will be announced on Sunday, November 6, 2022.)

IV. LIST OF THE EXAMINEES AND THEIR PRIMARY RUNNER.

The examinees shall have their primary preferred runner whom they may contact the whole 2
weeks of the examinations. The primary runners shall transmit any info request to a secondary runner
(runner of the day assigned). There may be 1 runner for 3 or 4 examinees or 2 or more runners for each
examinee, depending also on the examinee’s confidence. Take note of their cellphone numbers, and
where they will come from going to DLSL examination site. All Runners should have a copy of this for
their Logistics. Runners shall strictly keep the confidentiality of the personal data of the examinees
(addresses, numbers, etc.)
