existence of only one person or object. We usually use there’s in informal spea-
king.

In English, we can use the expressions like, don’t (doesn’t) like, dislike, love and hate to
express our opinions or feelings about a situation.
• I like apples.
• He dislikes broccoli.
After like, don’t (doesn’t) like, dislike, love and hate we can use either nouns (names of
things) or verbs (names of actions). But if we use a verb, we must use it with to or -ing.

Hello, friend.
I am going to tell you about the things that I like and the
things that I don’t like.
I don’t like shopping much, but I adore shopping for books. When I shop for books, I buy
English and Spanish books. I also buy magazines, about art, and travel mostly. I detest comic
books.
I’m not a fan of sports. I prefer dancing or going for walks. You see, I don’t like sports much.
Well, I like watching the Olympic Games. I love that! But I hate sweating!!
