1.0 Brief Introduction
A half-wave rectifier is a simple electronic circuit that is used to convert an alternating
current (AC) input signal into a direct current (DC) output signal. The circuit is called a
"half-wave" rectifier because it only allows one half of the AC waveform to pass through
to the output

2.0 Aims of the Micro-Project

1. To understand the concept of half wave of rectifier.

1.0 Literature Review :

half-wave rectifiers would typically include a summary and evaluation of the existing
research, publications, and academic work related to half-wave rectifiers. It would cover
topics such as the circuit design, operation principles, mathematical modeling,
simulation and optimization techniques, and various applications of half-wave rectifiers.

4.0 Actual Methodology Followed:

1. SUBJECT SELECTION : a. We selected the topic for micro project.

b. Selected topic was confirmed by the subject teacher.

2. INFORMATION SELECTION : Collected information from basic electronics workshop

textbook

3. DATA EXTRACTION : We chose sufficient data with the help of our subject teacher
and represent it in bread board.
5.0 Actual Resources Used:

6.0 Outputs of the Micro-Projects:

• a half-wave rectifier is a pulsating DC waveform that consists of only the positive half-
cycles of the input AC voltage.
•The amplitude of the output waveform is equal to the amplitude of the positive half-cycles
of the input AC voltage.
• The output waveform has a DC component that is equal to the average value of the
positive half-cycles of the input waveform.

7.0 Skill developed / learning outcomes:

a. We also learn concept about half wave rectifier

b. Also learned how to prepare circuit diagram and connection.

8.0 Applications of this Micro-Project:

• Power Supplies: Half-wave rectifiers can be used as simple power supplies for low
power electronic devices such as radios, calculators, and small LED displays.
