Wellsite Geologist

Main Functions
The primary responsibilities of the Wellsite Geologist are supervision of all well site geological operations
(e.g., mudlogging, Logging While Drilling (LWD), Wireline services, core handling/processing) and quality
assurance of all geological data acquisition and reporting.

Task and Responsibilities

 Supervise, coordinate and quality control geological operations at the wellsite.
 Monitoring, supervision, and data quality control of mudlogging operation, quality control sample
descriptions of cuttings and cavings.
 Monitoring, supervision, and data quality control of wireline operation.
 Monitoring, supervision, and data quality control of LWD logging operations.
 Monitor and coordinate wellsite geologic data acquisition and analysis activities following Company
protocol/procedure/service contract requirements; timely disseminate information to stakeholders
(i.e, subsurface team); participate in regular teleconferences and meetings; review/verify invoices
for geological services.
 Auditing geological services when appropriate.
 Evaluate and interpret geological data including cuttings samples and offset well data.
 Perform Well-site log correlation and aid in the selection of casing points and TD. Proactively inform
the well-site team of imminent section/well TD.
 Abnormal Pressure Surveillance. Ensure all abnormal pressure parameters are monitored,
captured on a pressure evaluation log, and reviewed with Company Operations Geologist and
Drilling Supervisors as required.
 Smoothly handed over job/services to next wellsite rotater. Ensure no gaps during handover
process.
 Responsible for adhering to SSH&E requirements and cost-effective operations.
 Generate and deliver daily geological reports and data distribution. Ensure that all well information,
including reports, data, and logs are uploaded daily.
 Post-drill responsibilities include coordinating shipments of samples, logs, and reports as well as
completing special/ad-hoc projects.
 Support delivery of a post-well Composite Log. Generate and distribute detailed reports compiling
parameters, observations, and interpretation.
 Final Well Report at the end of each hole section and the well.

Skills and Qualifications

 BS/MS in Geology from a recognized institution.
 8-10 years’ recent experience in wellsite. Experience in Carbonate reservoir preferred.
 Fluent in both written and spoken English, have good organizational and coordination skills, be
able to work well with others and flexible on rotation schedule at site.
 Onshore/Offshore experience including platform/deviated well drilling with associated technologies
(e.g., LWD, WL).
 Experience with mud logging, cuttings description and correlating them to determine lithology and
well path.
 Must be in good physical condition and shall comply with all project health and safety requirements
(including any rig or country-specific certifications required to work onshore).
 H2S certifications must be current and not due to expire for the anticipated duration of the project.
 Good team player, ability to work effectively in diverse work groups include coordination with
external parties (i.e., regulator, partners, vendors).

Schedule: 14/14 rotation

Operations Geologist
Main Functions
The role exists to ensure all wells are drilled safely, compliant with all regulations, and efficiently to meet
defined well objectives in accordance with the drilling program and well Statement of
Requirement/Operation. This delivery requires collaboration and effective communication across
Subsurface and Wells teams. Coordination of Wellsite Geological Activities ("Operations Geologist"):
Coordinate, monitor, and administer Company operated wellsite geotechnical activities.

Task and Responsibilities

 Pre-drill planning, ensure integration of well planning and operational activity through strong
collaboration with key stakeholders (Geoscience, Drilling, Completions, and Wells services).
 Responsible for adhering to SSH&E requirements and cost-effective operations. Oversee data
acquisition program in compliance with safety and technical requirements.
 Monitor operations on daily basis (at times work nights, weekends, and public holidays). Perform
real-time monitoring and interpretation of data acquired while drilling.
 Provide technical support and quality oversight for wellsite geology processes, including
mudlogging, LWD/MWD, wireline logging.
 Ensure pertinence, reliability and quality of data and geological measurements acquired while
drilling.
 Compile, analyze and assemble data for reports and presentations. Proficient in subsurface
mapping and well log correlation.
 Regularly brief Technical Team and stakeholders on ongoing operations, with accompanying
recommendations where required.
 Provide technical input into evaluation, and supervision of contracted services, in collaboration with
related departments (i.e., Wells and Procurement Department). Serve as Contract administrator for
Subsurface related drilling contracts (i.e., Wireline, Mudlogging).
 Provide briefings to rotational Wellsite Geologists and ensure 100% excellence in their performance
 Serve as Geoscience team interface with Drilling, Completions, and Wells services to guide
planning and support real-time decision making.
 Accurately and promptly summarize end of well results via End of Well Reports.

technologies and applications.
 Experience with mud logging, cuttings description, real-time logging, and correlating them to
determine lithology and well path.
 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of fundamental geology and geophysics to support
drilling operations.
