Pitch - high or low sounds (notes) - (the student will think and answer)
This is how low or high a note sounds.
Melody - the “tune”. A series of pitches heard one at a - (the student will think and answer)

Rhythm
-a pattern of beats and accents, shorts and longs.

Beat - the steady pulse that flows through a piece of

Remember, the beat usually remains steady
Harmony - Two or more sounds heard at the same time. - (the student will think and answer)
Ex. Chords.
- Combinations of pitches sounding
simultaneously.

Consider two performers presenting a piece to
an audience. If one instrument is performing
on whole notes while the other is playing the
main melody there will be harmony.

ppp - pianissinissimo
pp – pianissimo (softer than piano) very soft
p – piano (soft)
mp – mezzo piano (stronger than piano, medium soft)
mf – mezzo forte (medium strong)
f – forte (strong/loud)
ff – fortissimo (stronger than forte) very loud
