1. INSTALLATION
1-1. Before connecting the Emergency Shower & Eyewash to the water supply, flush out the
water pipe and perform blowing out rust and other foreign substances.
1-2. Take Emergency Shower & Eyewash out from the packing box and/or wrapping sheet.
1-3. Wipe out any dust or foreign matters and install the Emergency Shower & Eyewash in
accordance with Dimensional Drawing (Assembling Procedure)
2. ANSI STANDARDS
In the ANSI Z358.1 care of installations are noted as follows;
2-1-1. Emergency Shower & Eyewash shall be arranged with adequate working spaces for safety
in operation and maintenance.
2-1-2. Emergency Shower & Eyewash shall be installed in accessible location that
requires no more than 10 (ten) seconds to be reached.
2-1-3. Emergency Shower & Eyewash shall be located on the same level as the hazard and the
path of travel shall be free of obstructions thay may inhibit the immediate use.
2-1-4. The area around the Emergency Shower & Eyewash shall be well lighted.
2-1-5. Use drinking water or equivalent water supply.
2-1-6. Delivered flushing fluid temperature shall be tepid( 16 - 18℃). In circumstances where chemical
reactions is accelerated by flushing fluid temperature, a medical advisor should be
consulted for optimum temperature for each application.
2-1-7. The supply line for units shall provide a continuous suppy
of flushing fluid at a minimun of 0.207 MPaG and less than
0.55 MPaG. Following in accordance with spec. requirement.

4. Pre-Operation Check
After Emergency Eyewash is installed , it shall be tested in accordance with following procedure.
4-1. With the unit correctly connected to the water source and the Valves are closed, visually
check the piping connections for leaks.
4-2. Open/close half of the Valve(B) several times to release the air in pipe. Do not directly look into
the Eyewash Flow Head.
Foreign matters may suddenly jump out with released air and may injure your eyes.
4-3. Open the Valve (B) to the full open position and check the flow streams from Flow Head
rise to approximately equal heights. And close when finished. (refer to 3-2 1), 2))
4-4. Open Valve (A) to full open position. And the check the water flow from Shower Head is enough
spread over the body. And closed when finished. (refer to 3-1 1), 2))
5-1. Activate Emergency Shower & Eyewash weekly to verify proper operation and record the test results.
5-2. When hazardous materials splash to workers, wash hazardous materials away for
15 minutes before first aid is applied
5-3. When hazadous materials splash to worker's eyes, wash hazardous materials away for
15 minutes before first aid is applied
While washing eyes , open and move eye(balls)
5-4. Instruct all workers regarding the location and proper use of Emergency Shower & Eyewash.
