Suppose you are youth advocate of today’s generation; what certain
specific Human Rights would you like to promote in your society? How will you
execute the advocacy in your community?

Gender equality occurs when men and women have equal rights,
responsibilities, and opportunities. Gender inequality affects everyone including
men, women, trans and gender diverse people, children, and families. As a youth
advocate of today’s generation, I would like to promote gender equality. Gender
equality prevents violence against woman and girls. It’s essential for economic
prosperity. Societies that value woman and men as equal are safer and healthier.
This advocacy will be executed through joining social media campaigns and by
creating blog where young people can share personal experiences about gender
(in)equality.
“Gender equality is not only a women’s issue, it is a human rights’ issue
that requires my participation”, declared UNASUR’s Secretary General, Ernesto
Samper. As a matter of fact, we are not only talking about a fundamental human
right, but also about necessary condition for peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable
world.
