Crewel Ghoul Patterns

GETTING STARTED

1. Secure your fabric in the embroidery


hoop. Screw the hoop tight and then spread
the fabric evenly.
2. Tie a knot at the very end of your thread
and you're ready to start!

make satin stitches with dark green on some of the


snake plant's leaves toward the back. For the rest,
alternate light green and dark green satin stitches.
finish the leaves by outlining them with a green/yellow
color with a stem stitch.

For the basket, use brown and


make vertical stitches in groups
of three.

Then, work horizontal stitches


weaving them under and over
the vertical stitches. Again,
grouping 3 together.

Continue weaving these stitches


down the basket.

Make a row of chain stitches at


the top of the pot.

Using dark green, make satin stitches around the outside of the leaf.

Make diagonal stitches towards the center of the leaf.

Fill in the center of the leaf with pink satin stitches.

Make one straight stitch with light green.

Repeat for all of the leaves.

Make satin stitches with yellow for the pot.

Using an orange/pink color, make vertical satin stitches for the bottom of the pot.
Make horizontal satin stitches for the top of the pot.
For the cactus, use a green color and make vertical split stitches.

Make satin stitches with green down one side of the leaf. Then make satin stitches down the other half.
Repeat for all leaves
Back stitch the stems.

Do the same steps for the monstera leaves.


Make stem stitches with medium green.
Using a lighter green color, make french knots on top of the stem stitches.

Make satin stitches with blue for the watering can. For the spout, use black and make some satin stitches.
FINISH THE BACK
Use some leftover
fabric to make the back
as pretty as the front.

I love sifting through fabric at thrift stores to


find pretty vintage fabric!

Sandwich the front and back of the


embroidery and put the hoop back
together. Pull tight and make sure both
sides are laying flat and evenly.

Trim the excess fabric and hot glue


or do a running stitch around the
excess fabric.
