SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter covers the summary, conclusion, and recommendations of the study.

Summary

This research aims to determine the helpfulness of using the internet in terms of
these aspects: concentration level on tasks, answering homework, and compliance of
outputs to Junior High School selected student’s learning productivity of Catmon
National High School.

A total of 80 students who were selected Junior High School Students of Catmon
National High School responded to this research using a self-administered
questionnaire.

Specially, this study sought to answer the following questions:

1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of?

1.1 age
1.2 gender
1.3 track/strand?

2. How helpful is the internet to the student’s learning productivity in terms of:
2.1 concentration level on tasks
2.2 answering homework
2.3 compliance with outputs

3. Based on the findings, what proposed plan can the teachers initiate in order to
strengthen the student’s learning productivity with the aid of using internet?
Findings

These the finding of the study:

1. Profiles of the research Respondents

From the eighty respondents, it was identified that thirty-seven point five percent
(37.5%) were male and sixty-two point five percent (62.5%) were female. Ninety-four
percent (94%) of respondents were around the ages of 15-17, and only six percent
(6%) for the ages of 17-18. Also, fifty-six percent (56%) are grade 10 students while the
grade 9 are forty-four percent (44%).

2. Helpfulness of using Internet to the three Aspects of Student’s Learning

Productivity

The benefits of using the internet for the three aspects namely concentration level
on tasks, answering homework, and compliance of outputs were helpful to the selected
Junior High School students of Catmon National High School. However among the
three aspects, compliance of outputs ranked first, followed by answering homework,
and lastly by concentration level on tasks.

Conclusions

Background internet can be helpful in increasing the learning productivity as well as

the academic performance of the students. In this regard, using the internet can be one
of the benefits in improving these aspects namely: concentration level.

Recommendations

Based on the findings of the study, the following were recommended:

1. If the library construction will be materialize, the teachers may provide a section
where the students can use the internet while doing their tasks but not in an agitated or
loud manner.
2. If the budget permits, the government may propose an activity area wherein the
students can use the computer lab / used internet as it can increase their learning
productivity such as concentration level on tasks, answering homework and compliance
of outputs.

3. Parents may allow their children to use the internet when answering their homework
at home since this could also be used as an instrument to search for or to scan new
knowledge.

4. Catmon National High School premises may produce new programs such as more I-
pad and functioning computers to use wherein the students can be used in searching
while doing their tasks as it can develop great mood and motivation to do their
academic activities.

5. That future researchers could include the benefits of using internet for scanning new
knowledge to gain relevant outcomes of their studies and to understand the helpfulness
and impact of using the internet on the students’ learning productivity.
