• What is the present perfect?
-The present perfect is a grammatical combination of the present tense and the perfect
aspect that is used to express a past event that has present consequences. The term is
used particularly in the context of English grammar to refer to something that has
already happened. It is characterized by pointing out actions or events that happened in
the past, but are still relevant in the present. Although a specific time is never
mentioned, the most important feature of it´s use is to highlight the time that elapses in
the action and what objective it has had in that period of time.
• Modes of use
Like all verb tenses, the present perfect has three structures: affirmative, negative, and
interrogative. Next we will show how each one of them is ordered and composed, with
some clear and simple examples.
• Remember that in all cases you can use the short form to express
yourself more naturally, for example:
I have I´ve
You have You´ve
He has He´s
She Has She´s
It has It´s
We have We´ve
They Have They´ve
