II. SUBJECT DESCRIPTION

Science has been a part of our everyday lives. This subject is designed as a continuation of the deepening of the processes and concepts as the pupils
engage themselves in the world of science. It highlights the enrichment of the essential science skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and scientific
reasoning skills and attitude referred to as habits of mind. These skills are necessary as it can be used and are indispensable in doing daily human activities.
The subject covers four important dimensions: understanding matter, living things and their environment, force, motion and energy as well as earth and
space. The concepts and skills that will be acquired with the provision of varied activities serve as the foundation towards learning the complexity of science as a
subject. Thus, the overall coverage of the subject aims to develop scientifically literate, responsible and productive global citizens.

VI. CLASSROOM POLICIES

1) Be in the classroom five minutes before the class starts.


2) Enter the classroom silently and sit immediately on your proper seats.
3) Don’t make your assignments inside the class.
4) Make sure to be prepared. Bring all the materials needed for the activity and prepare your assignments.
5) Observe proper passing of papers. (Pass to the center and forward)
6) During discussion, put away unnecessary things that are not part of the discussion.
7) When ask to answer question, stand up and answer in complete sentence.
8) If you want to answer a question, just raise your right hand.
9) In case if you will use bathroom or drink water outside, just use the non-verbal cues taught by the teacher.
10) Do not talk to your seatmates while class discussion is going on.
11) During group activities, make sure that everyone contributes to the overall presentation or product to be presented.
12) In quizzes and exams, unable to follow instruction will be deducted points.
13) Always bring your science notebook.
14) Respect your classmates as well as your teacher.
15) During vacant time, maximize it by doing and staying on task.

VII. POLICIES ON ABSENCES

1) Three consecutive late is equivalent to one absent.


2) Seven consecutive absences without valid reason will be subjected to the principal.
3) Only 10 days of absences are allowed in the whole school year except for those absences with valid reasons.
4) Secure a letter signed by your parents/guardian and the principal if you are going to absent.
5) Present a medical certificate to ensure the validity of health reason for absences.

In order to fully realize the outcomes and aims set, the students will be required:

The grades of the students will be based on written works such as quizzes and essays, performance tasks, and periodical examinations
