Kankanen Festival
The latest updates
Over 500 bilao, or circular trays of
handmade rice cakes, were displayed in the
town center in ASINGAN, Pangasinan,
where more than 3,000 locals celebrated
the annual Kankanen Festival on Friday.

Mayor Carloz Lopez Jr. remarked, "This is

our way of offering thanks to God for the
abundant rice and vegetable harvests that
we experienced in our town in the past
years.

The town, a farming community in the

eastern part of the Pangasinan, is the
hometown of the late President Fidel V. Credits to Asingan PIO

Aside from its well-known rice cakes, the

town is also the province's top producer of
dairy goods including carabao milk.
Locally referred to as "inkiwar," the rice
cakes are prepared with coconut milk and
brown sugar for sweetness.

The 21 barangays in the town delivered at
least 511 circular trays of rice cakes with
various toppings to the plaza on Friday.
Participants in the celebrations included
teachers, older residents, barangay health
workers, and officials of national government The mayor of the town is very grateful to
organizations.
Three thousand people, on the average,
showed up and participated in the
celebration, as well as some other events
planned for it.
Several agencies and offices such as
DepEd, even all the local government
offices of Asingan, Farmers Associations
and all barangays of the town voluntarily
showed support to the Kankanen Festival
dhail from their own money expenses.
everyone who joined and gave support in
highlighting one of the town's products.
Meanwhile, LGU Asingan's target is to
have the said occasion included in the
Guinness World Book of Records by
making the Kankanen Festival Asingan
more known not only in the province of
Pangasinan but also throughout the world.

CONTEST RESULT
When the show of passions of the contestants was
over, the results were released. the 4th place is the
singing duet, the 3rd place is the solo singer, the
2nd place is the solo dancer, the 1st place is the
Civilianz and the champion is the Syndicates.

Many people were disappointed with the result

but many people also received them because
they also had nothing to gain because this was
the result, the important thing was that people
enjoyed and were happy because of what they
watched
