I. TITLE OF THE PROJECT

The title of our poetry group project is named as “Mathematics

Unwrapped”.

II. SPECIFIC OUTPUT

Our group project for Module 1 of the Mathematics in the Modern World is

a six-stanza poem characterizing mathematics as an epitome of beauty and

grandeur, with the emphasis on its applications in the real and contemporary

world.

III. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Our mathematics poetry piece entitled, “Mathematics Unwrapped” is a

fun and thought-provoking way to explore the beauty and patterns within

numbers and equations. While math and poetry may seem like unlikely

bedfellows, this literary work highlights the elegance and rhythm found within
mathematical concepts. The poem focuses on subtopics within the realm of

math, using metaphors and imagery to explore how it relates to the natural

world. Mathematics Unwrapped serves as a reminder of the wonder within

equations and numbers, things we often take for granted. The poem allows

readers to see math in a new light, appreciating its artistic qualities and the

way it helps us understand the world.

IV. MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS COVERED IN THE PROJECT

Mathematics Unwrapped encapsulates the nutshell points of four

mathematical subtopics specifically used to highlight the overall concept of

mathematics as a beholden beauty explored in different profound ways.

These concepts pertain to algorithms, equations, calculus, and geometry

with their respective applications in the contemporary world. Metaphors and

personifications were employed to emphasize the graceful aura of this literary

work.

V. PROCEDURE/EXECUTION

The process of creating Mathematics Unwrapped utilized many

considerations in making a sound and cohesive poetry piece. For each two

lines in a stanza, we effectively assured that their respective ending words

rhyme together when we performed the piece. We created six (6) stanzas for
Mathematics Unwrapped, composed by all group members with 1-2 assigned

stanzas. Due to time constraints and lack of proximity among the group

members’ places, we executed the poetry piece via video submission edited

together in one MP4 document.
