Core Values: Serves Humanity by measuring temperature with the use of thermometer.

Concept Notes:
Heat– it is the energy that is transferred from one substance to another because of temperature
difference between the two. Heat is always transferred from hot to cold, and never the other way around.
Temperature - is a quantity that tells you how cold or hot an object is compared to a standard scale.

There are three scales used to measure temperature:

1. Celsius scale- the international scale.

2. Fahrenheit scale - popularly used in the United States of America, but it is slowly replaced by the Celsius
scale.
3. Kelvin (K) –the SI unit of measurement for temperature.

Example:

1. Celsius to Fahrenheit 2. Fahrenheit to Celsius 3. Kelvin to Celsius 4. Celsius to Kelvin

If ℃ = 25 If ℉ = 240 If K =390 If ℃ = 78
(240 ℉−32)
℉ = (1.8×25℃ ) +32 ℃= ℃ = 390 K−¿273.15 K = 78 ℃ +
1.8
273.15
℉ = 77 ℃ = 115. 60 ℃ = 116.85 K = 315.15
