C. Diagram the subject, verb and direct object (if there is one) of each sentence on the line below
it. First write the subject and verb on the line. Next, divide the subject from the predicate with a
vertical line. Next, if there is a direct object, write it on the line and divide it from the verb. Don’t
bother with words that aren’t either the subject, the verb, or the direct object.
Example: The nimble sprite ate giant blue ants for breakfast.
