Preparation: Unlocking of Difficulty:

Oblique Triangle- a triangle which does not contain any right angle.
An oblique triangle can be classified into two.
Acute Triangle- a triangle whose all angles are all less than 90˚

1. How can we find the missing length of the triangle below?

2. Can you find the missing lengths of the triangle?

Possible answer: No, because the figure is not a right triangle. We cannot use
the trigonometric functions.

Analysis 1. How do you find the activity?

2. How did you solve for the missing angle in a triangle?
3. How will we solve for the missing lenghts of a triangle?

Abstraction The Law of Sines is easy to follow and very useful in solving oblique triangles when you know the following
information:
 two sides and an angle opposite one of these sides (SSA Case)
 two angles and one side (SAA Case and ASA Case)

The Law of Sines is described by the relation,

Application The students will be grouped into five. Each group will perform the activity.

Pair Me Up!

What is the title of the picture?

Solve the triangles on the next page. If the answers are not whole numbers, round off to the nearest tenth. Then,
write the corresponding letter on the blanks below to decode a message.

ASSESSMENT (indicate whether it is thru Observation and/ or Talking/conferencing to learners and/or

Analysis of Learner’s Products and/or Tests)
1. How did you fare in the Activity?
2. Were you able to solve each triangle and the whole puzzle? If not, why?
3. The next time you do an activity, what measures will you take so you could finish the activity?
4. What is the Law of Sines/ Sine Rule?
5. When to use the Law of Sines/ Sine Rule?

ASSIGNMENT Continuation on the discussion of the group activity.

Concluding Activity • In your own words, how will you explain “The First great law is to Obey”
