WEEKLY LEARNING PLAN

Quarter: Fourth Grade Level: Eight

Week: 1 Learning Area: Mathematics

MELC/s: Illustrate theorems on triangle inequalities (Exterior Angle Inequality Theorem, Triangle Inequality Theorem, Hinge Theorem). (M8GE-IVa-1)

Day Objectives Topic/s Classroom-Based Activities Home-Based Activities

1 Illustrate Exterior Exterior Angle Preliminary Activities:

Angle Inequality Inequality Theorem a. Prayer Ask the learners to read their
Theorem. b. Reminder of the classroom health and safety protocols Mathematics Quarter 4
c. Checking of attendance Module 1 – Triangle
Inequality.
Recall:
Define exterior angle and remote interior angles.
Let them accomplish the given
Motivation: activities in their LAS.
1. Give learners sticks with the following measurement: 1 in., 2 in., 2 in., 3 in., 3 in., ∞ Written Work #1
4 in., 5 in., 6 in. ∞ Written Work #2
2. They will choose three straws indicated in the given table. With the straws ∞ Written Work #3
touching at the ends, try to make a triangle.
3. Record the results in the second column. Note: Straws must touch only at the
ends to make a triangle.

Discussion of Concepts:
Let the learners draw a triangle. Ask them to label the vertices as SUN. Then let them
measure the angles of the triangle. Extend SN to a point Y.

Developing Mastery:
Ask the following questions:
1. What are measures of the interior angles of the triangle that you have drawn?
2. What is the sum of the measures of the angles in a triangle?
3. What is the measure of angle UNY?
4. How do you call angle UNY in relation to your drawing?
5. What is meant by remote interior angle?
6. Name the two remote interior angles of your drawing.
7. What are the measures of angle L and angle O?
Application and Generalization:
Let learners answer exercises in illustrating the exterior and interior angle of triangles.
Ask them to explain how to identify the exterior and interior angle of a triangle.

Evaluation:
Let the learners identify the exterior and interior angle of triangles.

Explain the Home-based activities that they need to accomplish.
