Based on the DOST-PAGASA Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 14 issued at 05:00 PM


today, at 04:00 PM today, the Typhoon "Chedeng' continues to maintain its strength
while moving North Northwestward over the Philippine Sea. The center of the eye
of Typhoon CHEDET{G was estimated based on all available data at 885 km
East of Northern Luzon (17.9'N, 130.1'E with maximum sustained winds of 130
km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 160 km/h, and central pressure of975
hPa while almost in a statlonary position with strong to typhoon-force winds
extending outwards up to 520 km from the center. No Tropical Cyclone Wind
Signals are hoisted at this time.

Moreover, Chedeng is unlikely to directly bring heavy rainfall over the country in the
next 3-5 days. The current forecast scenario for this typhoon results in the

onhancement of the Southwest tlonsoon, and brings occasional rains over some
portions of southwestern Luzon in the next 3 days. This may also bring gusty
conditions over Visayas, Romblon, Occidental Mindoro, the northern portion of
Palawan, including Kalayaan, Calamian, and Cuyo lslands, Surigao del Norte,
Dinagat lslands, and Camiguin. As such, the public is advised to continue
monitoring for updates regarding the possible enhancement of the Southwest
Monsoon.

ln addition, the DENR-Mlnes and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) has identifled


more than 130 barangays that have high to yery high susceptibility to floods
and raininduced landslides from 06 to 09 June 2023, (ANNEX A: MGB Brgy
List as of 09 June 2023, 2AM) based on the DOSI-PAGASA Rainfall Data GSM
l1ommrYVRF 150mm as of 09062023 2AM. Please take note of the validity of
earlier MGB barangay lists provided (72-hour forecast) and that other areas not
on the list, but are located in close proximity to or downstream of the listed
areas, may also be affected. Additional lists of areas susceptible to flood and
landslide will be sent immediately by DENR-MGB as soon as the DOST-PAGASA
sends their updated forecast rainfall data.

Based on these recent developments, all Local Govemment Units, especially those
in areas that have recently been affected by Tropical Cyclone Betty and
experienced extended or prolonged rain events and/or landslide/flooding, are
advised to ensure that all critical preparedness actions indicated in the previous
DILG Advisory on the 'tPA and Southwest Monsoon" issued on 06 June 2023,
are already being undertaken, with further emphasis on the following:

1. Closely monitor the PAGASA Regional Services Divisions' local


thunderstorm/rainfall advisories and heavy rainfall warnings, as well as
the general flood advisories and basin flood bulletine that may be issued
by the Hydrometeorology Division and River Basin Flood Forecasting and
Warning Centers, as appropriate;
2. Convene their respective Local DRRMCs and conduct Pre-Disaster Risk
Assessments (PDRA) icr floods, flash floods, rain-induced landslides, debris
flow strong winds, and other hydrometeorological hazards to ascertain the
appropriate preparedness and response actions are undertaken;
3. Continuously inform and advise all communlties through, but not limited
to, the local television and radio stations, of situation updates and
preparedness aclions of the localities. tlaximize the use of official social
media platforms for public information;
4. CONDUCT PRE-EMPTIVE EVACUATION, if deemed necessary, and avoid
areas affected by repeated flooding and lan&lides, meandering rivers
with hillsides/riverbank erosion, floodplains with shifting and braiding streams,
coastal areas afiected by storm surge, flash flood areas, river deltas with
many distributary channels, etc.;
5. Utilize HazardHunterPH to generate indicative hazard assessment reports on
the use/s specifiecl location via httgs //hazardh unter.oeorisk.oov. oh;
6. Cause the fastest and widest dissemination of this Advisory.

All DILG Regional Directors are directed to coordinate closely with your respective
RDRRMCS and remind all LGUs to undertake all critical preparedness actions and
