Spencer and Meghan are two Australian students.

They have just arrived in JFK Airport in

New York because their trip is over. One thing is sure, they have made the most of it ! Before
they take the plane back to Melbourne, they have answered our journalist’s questions and

Activity 1 : What about going uptown and listening to a

Gospel choir in Harlem ?

Hearing Gospel in Harlem is one of the finest musical treats New

York City has to offer. Visitors should bear in mind that Sunday
services are not “a musical show” although we have felt like
attending a big concert ! There was music, people were singing,
praying, Pastor Renée was… simply… amazing ! We have really
enjoyed that experience and the people around.
There are 3 Services on Sunday at 7:30am, 9:30am and 11:30am.
You will be charged $10 to attend the service. Amazing place,
but not a safe one
for ladies alone…

Activity 2 : Why not discover the Bronx Zoo uptown ?

You’re a bit hungry ? you should taste
the yummy Dunkin Doughnuts !
The Bronx Zoo is the largest metropolitan zoo and one of the
largest in the world. The zoo welcomes more than 2.15 million
visitors each year. It is a must-visit place when you are in New
York ! The Bronx Zoo is world-renowned for its large and diverse
animal collection, and its award-winning exhibitions. It’s the ideal
place for animal-lovers. We have never seen such a diversity of
animals… It is opened daily from 10am to 4.30pm. The entrance
fee is $10 for an adult.

Activity 3 : Let’s entertain ourselves at Madison Square

Garden !
Madison Square Garden is the world’s most famous arena and the
biggest one in New York !
If you are keen on sport or music event, you will love the place ! Big
basketball games or ice-hockey games are on the schedule as well
as concerts throughout the year. Pink will be on stage on April 4 th,
2018. You can buy tickets right now for… $250. Tickets are also
available for the New York Knicks vs the Orlando Magic basketball
game on April 3rd, 2018 for $79. We didn’t have the chance to take
part in a game but… another day !
Activity 4 : You could spend one day in Coney Island…

“Luna Park” is a unique amusement park in Coney Island.

There are 19 attractions and games to entertain you. Visitors
don’t need cash to pay for amusements and rides; they must
buy Luna Cards and spend Luna Credits or use an unlimited
ride wristband that allows for four hours of ride time on
select rides. Little shops sell candy apples, candy floss,
lollipops and… the best hot dogs ever ! They have eaten the

The “Christmas shop” has everything for everyone. Located in

Little Italy, the bright red cheerful store stands out in the middle of
the neighbourood. This place is a Christmas junkie's dream. Magnets,
ornaments, CDs, snowballs, nativity sets, nutcrackers, Santa statues,
lights and of course… there is a wide range of NYC ornaments ! So,
don’t hesitate to start your Christmas shopping in… New York City !

place to go !!

Spencer was looking for a new mobile. He left his mobile on the plane
when they landed two weeks before… So, they thought it was a good
deal to visit Chinatown and make good bargains. Whatever you need,
you will find it ! There are big discounts and counterfeit products
everywhere. Moreover, you can eat at a very low price in a typical
restaurant and you can also buy natural medicines and plants in the Chinese New year
streets… Outstanding… celebration : a
They have bought tea, counterfeit clothes and sneakers, and of must-see event in
course… a mobile phone ! Chinatown !

Activity 7 : Why don’t you go to Broadway to watch a
musical ?

Meghan has always loved ABBA’s songs. She couldn’t leave

New York without going to Broadway… This is where her
dream came true. People have the possibility to bargain for
their tickets. They can get a good discount if they are lucky
enough and if they buy their tickets early.
Let’s come back to Meghan’s night… She has already been to
Shake Shack concerts but she had never been to a musical before. The
burgers 4ever ! theatre was wonderful with its crystal chandeliers and its red
velvet armchairs. At half-time, she has drunk champagne like
the other people… she was so happy ! She has paid only $60
for her ticket. She will never forget that night out !

won’t regret it !

First, let’s analyse the pros and cons of Macy’s… It is on the 7 th

Avenue, next to the Empire State Building ! It’s in the heart of
Manhattan, a very good place. There are 11 floors and people can
buy anything they want ! Meghan has bought a Mickael Kors Bag and
she has found a fragrance that is not sold in Melbourne. Big deal ! Need a snack ? Katz’s pastrami sandwiches are… de li cious !
But… It is a quite expensive one… On the contrary, Century 21 is
much better for small purses. After a visit at Ground Zero, to cheer
up, this 7-floor outlet store is known for designer brands at amazing
prices.
So… make the right choice ! Spencer has filled his suitcase with Levis
Jeans and Ralph Lauren shirts for… $70 !!

Activity 9 : Especially for lovers… a helicopter tour to
admire the New York skyline…

Meghan and Spencer’s stay has finished in a very romantic way.

Spencer has booked a helicopter flight for $300. They have
admired the skyline by night and have taken photos of the most
iconic landmarks. The tour has begun down the Hudson River
and they have soared over Manhattan for 20 minutes. They
have enjoyed breathtaking views. They have waited for a long
time but it was worth doing it ! It will be an unforgettable
moment and an exciting one for Meghan… no doubt !
