Treatment for our Short Film

Title- Lost Fortune

Synopsis- The short film starts as there is a high angle shot of the girl looking down
staring at the lottery ticket in her hand whilst walking thinking all the possibilities she
could do with it if she wins, the girl had just turned 18 a few days ago and her parents
gave her a lottery ticket as one of her presents. She kept hold of this ticket the whole
way to college as the girl felt lucky with the ticket on her at all times. There is an extreme
close up of the ticket in the girl's hand then a medium close up of the girl smiling. The
camera pans towards the girl walking into college and she was waiting for her lesson to
start and decided to sit on the benches outside.

She sat down with her lottery ticket in her hand and scanned the ticket on her phone
using an app. The camera is close up shot to the phone . It made a noise to let her know
she had won, the girl was so happy she jumped up in excitement the camera followed
the moving object and let go of the ticket. As she let go of the ticket a gust of wind blew
the ticket away. Desperate to keep hold of the ticket and not lose it she chased after the
ticket. Grabbing her bag and chasing the ticket. With her eyes glued to the ticket she
ran. The ticket blew onto the top of the bush. She slowly creeped to get the ticket, there
is a close up of her face showing relief, as she tries to grab it, the wind blows the ticket
away again and there is another close up of the girl facepalming.

Eager to find the ticket, the girl begins to chase it everytime the wind blows, the camera
angle is establishing shot as the camera is focused on the girl walking fast to get the
ticket. Along the way, she encounters a series of obstacles that challenge her
determination and force her to confront her own limitations. As she chases the ticket
further and further, she starts to give up. There is a jump cut of the girl chasing, trying to
get the ticket around the college campus. As she is chasing the ticket, she starts to give
up but she starts imagining what she could do with the winnings, so she carries on
chasing the ticket as she is motivated to get it. The camera cuts to a boy walking
listening to music, it pans to his feet whilst walking and he stepped on the ticket, the girl
out of breath, shouts stop at the boy, and the boy grabs the ticket and reads it, and
hands it over to the girl, the camera is an over the shoulder shot. She is relieved with joy
and starts jumping around, the boy is confused and says to the girl, “You know that ticket
is fake, right?”
The girl says, “What? No it's not!” The boy points at the bottom of the ticket where it
says in small print “This ticket is fake, it is for joke purposes only” The camera cuts to the
girl's face and cuts out as she is filled with anger, it cuts to a long shot of the girl kicking
a rock out of anger, then a mid shot and then it cuts to a moving subject walks and the
girl is ripping the ticket up and then walks out of frame.
