Module dates: 19 September – 16 oct 2022
Deadline for submitting your last work: 23 oct 2022

3 ECTS = 75 learner working hours in total

Synchronous meetings: Monday, 5 pm

Evaluation: Participants who complete all the activities with an acceptable


commitment will be awarded the 3 ECTS

Connected learning (1)
« Connected learning is learning that connects personal interests, supportive
relationships, and academic, civic, and career opportunity ».
« Connected learning is not confined to explicitly educational and teacher-guided
experiences intentionally designed to support learning, nor is it limited to
traditional academic subjects ».
« Connected learning is grounded in theories of learning that recognize that
learning and development are embedded within social relationships and cultural
contexts ».

Conditions for connected learning to happen:
 Organisations sponsor and/or legitimise interests and identities of a diverse
audience
 Learners are engaged in shared practices (e.g. creative production)
 Practices are guided by shared purpose such as contributions to communities,
social change, or solving real problems
 Learning is connected across settings through brokering, coordination, and
openly networked platforms

Open Education
 Open Education considers knowledge as a common good
 It is a means to contribute to collective intelligence, not an end in itself

justice, agency, access, recycling, ubiquitous ownership
