01. Find out the approximate weight of the load before lifting.

02. Check the Safe Working Load (S.W.L.) marked on the sling before lifting.

04. Examine all slings before use, reject if found defective. Discard the belt, if

05. Slings should be protected by suitable packing from sharp edges.

08. Remove the hands before the crane takes the load and stay clear.

09. Ensure the load is free before lifting.

10. Use only recognised signals for the Crane operator.

11. Return slings to the “Stores’’ after the job is completed.

12. All slings should be inspected by the rigger/slinger before any lifting.

13. Ensure that the Manufacturers load Test certificate is available.
