1. What is the actual title of the Rizal law?

The actual title of Rizal law is "AN ACT TO INCLUDE IN THE CURRICULA OF ALL
PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES COURSES ON THE LIFE,
WORKS AND WRITINGS OF JOSE RIZAL, PARTICULARLY HIS NOVELS NOLI ME TANGERE
AND EL FILIBUSTERISMO, AUTHORIZING THE PRINTING AND DISTRIBUTION THEREOF,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES".

2. What is the purpose of RA No 1425?

The purpose of Republic Act No. 1425 is to inculcate people especially students in College
regarding Life, Works, and Writings of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.

3. What are the reason or reasons students may exempt themselves from reading Rizal's
novels and writings?

In the section 1 of the Republic Act 1425, it states that the reason or reasons students may exempt
themselves from reading Rizal's novels and writing is Religious belief. They can be exempt from reading
but not from the course itself.

4. Is there a way for students in college not to take the Rizal Course?

No, it is a subject required to tertiary levels. As I've mentioned in question number three, you can
be exempted from reading the novels and writings due to the religious belief but you cannot exempt to
take the course.

5. Why you think that the teaching of Rizal's ideas may be mistaken for religious
instruction and therefore banned in public schools?

It is believed that the teaching of Rizal's idea are disagreed and opposed to the view of the
Catholic church in the Philippines. It is banned in public schools in accordance with the Article 14 section
3 number 3.
