Journal 3 METACOGNITION/GRIT Instruction Guide

Purpose: Students will be able to identify the level of one’s


personal grit
Learning Outcome: Developing personal responsibility to achieve
personal goals and college success

Tasks to complete assignment:

3. Complete the Grit Assessment found at:
https://angeladuckworth.com/grit-scale/
4. Write down your Grit Score.
5. Based on your score, type your Journal 3 according to the writing
prompts.

 To write a journal essay, put the title of the journal on the top line. Do
not put the questions to the journal in your journal or your name on your
essay
 Use Times New Roman, 12-point font
 Double space your essay
 Write at least 1 substantial paragraph per question
 Check the spelling & grammar of your work
 Make sure your journal essay is a minimum of at least 1 full page

Follow every step of the Journal Checklist and make sure you
submit your checklist with your journal essay

Journal 3: Grit
1. Why do you think your score is the way it is?
2. How do you think your understanding of metacognition can impact
your grit and determination?
3. How can and will you apply these principles to your daily life to
strengthen your score?
After you have watched the Grit video, and taken the Grit Assessment, use your
results to write this

6. Upon completion, put your Journal 3 in the Dropbox, Journal 3


in your Momentum course.
