Project Background & Objectives

Background Job Purpose & Purpose

AMI is a Smart Grid Infrastructure in the form of an ecosystem that
consists of Smart meters Communication media, Data
Concentrator Unit (DCU), Data exchange protocol between
equipment & Head End System (HES), Data Processing meter
and Data Centers (MDMS).
Providing an Advanced Metering Infrastructure ecosystem
(AMI) for Pre-commercialization Trials starting from kWh
Meters, Data Concentrator Units, and Head End Systems that
covers 110,000 meters in 3 cities before
massive implementation.

Advanced Metering-based smart meter development

Infrastructure (AMI) is carried out to address related issues
the accuracy of the electricity bill from the meter reading
Energy Transactions and address the challenges of efficiency and
electric power service innovation in Indonesia.

In addition, the application of smart meters is also defined as

PLN Directors KPI by the Ministry of SOEs (Enter in 88
Strategic Projects that are monitored directly by the Minister of SOEs).

RFI Purpose
Here are 4 Goals of RFI
In the framework of the 2021 PLN AMI procurement plan, the following are the objectives of holding an RFI to Candidates
Provider
 Capabilities Validation & Supply Capacity of Prospective Providers
Validation of the capability and capacity of potential providers related to AMI solutions: meter-2-way (1 phase/3 phase, GSM/ RF/ PLC, Pre-
pay/ Postpaid), DCU (PLC, RF), and HES

Validation of Product Specifications against Testing Eyes

PLN has several test points (insulation, accuracy, electrical, etc.). Prospective providers are welcome to provide
responses in this area.

Request for Input Regarding AMI Implementation

Prospective providers are welcome to provide input related to leading practice activities that need to be carried out to
implementation

Inquiry for Meter, DCU, & HES Price Information

To collect the latest material and service price information.
