1. My Accomplished Observation Sheet

Formative assessment can be observed before and during instruction in the typical
classroom setting. Before the supposed lesson begins, the teacher may conduct a diagnostic
test or pre-test. During the discussion, activities such as calling someone to explain or answer
a question, learning tasks related to the subject matter and objectives, and so on are carried
out.
When a student does not understand a concept, the teacher will ask other students to
help him or her by having someone explain the concept and answer the question. The teacher
may occasionally record the students who are taking part in the discussion.

2. My Analysis
Formative assessment allows teachers to check students’ comprehension of the lesson.
Methods used by the teacher when students did not fully comprehend the lesson
 Peer tutoring ( Tutors were assigned by teacher to teach one or two classmates).
 Each-one-teacher-one ( Students paired with one another).
 Teacher gave a Module for more exercises for lesson mastery.
 Teacher did re-teaching.

3. My Reflection

This lesson taught me that assessment is very important in the teaching and learning
cycle. It enables you to assess the effectiveness of your learning.
Formative assessment is evaluation for learning. Assessment for Learning occurs
during the learning process, often multiple times, rather than at the end.
I’ve also learned that students understand exactly what they are going to learn, what
is expected of them, and how to improve their work. Teachers use assessment as an
investigative tool in Assessment for Learning to learn as much as they can about what their
students know and can do, as well as any confusions, preconceptions, or gaps they may have.
The diverse information that teachers collect about their students’ learning processes serves
as the foundation for determining what they need to do next to advance student learning. It
serves as the foundation for giving students descriptive feedback and deciding on groupings,
instructional strategies, and resources.
In addition, I learned that teachers use assessment for learning to increase students’
motivation and commitment to learning. Formative assessment can assist both students and
teachers in achieving success in the learning cycle. Failures at the end can be avoided if it is
implemented successfully and effectively.
