Where do they live?
LIVES IN THE ANDES MOUNTAINS STARTING FROM ARGENTINA
AND CHILE TO WESTERN VENEZUELA.
What do they look like?
It has black plumage, with the tips of the wings and the collar of white feathers.
Its reddish head has no feathers and can change color depending on its emotional
state.

What do they eat?


The Andean condor has a great sense of smell, which allows it to find
its food, which is the remains of dead animals.
Why it is in danger of extinction?
Declared by the IUCN the main threat affecting the Andean
condor is the consumption of toxic baits, an illegal practice
used to control predatory speciest
How does it contribute to the ecosystem?
Which feeds on carrion, so it plays an invaluable role in
ecosystems. By consuming dead animals, you prevent the
proliferation of bacteria that can cause disease in humans.
How tall is a Andean condor?
It can live more than 50 years in the wild and up to 80 in
captivity. It stands around 142 cm tall and reaches a
wingspan of 330 cm.
