SLI Training – Basic First Aid Training

Trainer: Sir Brian and Sir Jeff

I learned the different methods in giving a first aid for different types of injuries such as open wound,
broken or dislocated bones, and no pulse or breathing. The most crucial part of training that I highly value
and remember was the CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training, because of its importance in revival
of the injured person. In performing this, a proper emergency action plan must be done. First, check the
surrounding for any possible danger. You have to secure your own safety first before helping others. If
there is a danger, either relocate the injured person to a safe area or remove the danger or hazards.
Proceed to the victim if the scene is safe. Ask the victim to know if he or she will respond. If there is a
response, check the history, signs and symptoms, and treatment. If there is no response, ask for
assistance. Then, check for the airways if there is any blocking the passage. If the breathing is normal,
check for secondary survey and position the victim in a recovery position and monitor and check for any
injuries. If there is no response and no breathing, immediately call an ambulance or 999, and perform
CPR.
